Students from Beau Allen’s Physics class—along with a few returning students from last year—recently visited Auburn Rural Studio in Newbern, AL, part of Auburn University’s architecture program.

Guided by 5th-year student McAllister Tucker, they learned about the program’s mission and philosophy, toured both in-progress and completed projects, and explored how design can shape and support communities.

They wrapped up the day with lunch on the iconic “Great Porch”—and left inspired, with some students now considering architecture as a future path.
