Math-Science Students Clean House at AJAS Competition

On Saturday, Feb 28th, 7 Math-Science students (5 individual and 1 team project) competed in the Alabama Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) competition, and they cleaned house! There were 5 categories in this competition, and they were placed 1st in each category, with 1 student earning 3rd place in her category. All 1st place winners will present again for the monetary awards in the second round.

Saisha Sahoo (10th grade) – 1st in Environmental Science and 1st overall (or best in show); Award $1000

Harsha Bheemanathini (9th grade) – 1st in Life Science and 2nd overall; Award $750

Michael Mazur & Mia Hall (11th grade) – 1st in Engineering and 3rd overall; Award $500

Greeshma Vinoy (11th grade) – 1st in Physical Science and 4th overall; Award $250

Shreyas Keshava (11th grade) – 1st in Medicine, Health & Social Science and 5th overall; Award $100

Rania Masri (10th grade) – 3rd in Environmental Science
