Recently, 12 of our Math-Science middle schoolers took part in the first round of the National MathCounts Competition Series. The first round determines the top 3 teams in the Birmingham Chapter that will go on to compete at the state level. There are 4 members on the team: Arush Batchu, Sagar Yellamraju, Tristan Delroy Trotman, and Luke Willis. They were able to place 2nd overall, meaning they will compete at the state level!

Of the 12 that went to the competition, we had 5 place in the top 25% or the top 16 out of 80:

3rd place - Arush Batchu

6th place - Luke Willis

7th place - Sagar Yellamraju

14th place - Tristan Delroy Trotman

15th place - Eric Su

The MathCounts Competition Series is the highest and most prestigious math competition for Middle School Mathletes, so we are completely overjoyed by their incredible turnout. State is on March 21st in Montgomery, Alabama, and they are so excited to compete!
