Recently, guest artist Dr. Talawa spent 2 weeks in residence with ASFA Dance, during which he taught dance classes, lectured, and worked with the 7th Grade Museum Project and student groups. He also created a new work for ASFA Dance, which will be featured in their Winter Repertory performance Feb. 27-March 1 at the DJD Theater!

The original work unfolds to an all-original score with Dr. Talawa's own poetry carried by the rhythmic architectures of the Caribbean and the western coastline of the African continent.

Dr. Talawa is known worldwide for his codified Talawa Technique and is a sought-after choreographer and cultural entrepreneur.
