See the students of Alabama School of Fine Arts in action! Performances, exhibits, and symposiums are part of the ASFA curriculum and are a way for students to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities. They also provide accessible arts and sciences experiences for the public. The performance season showcases main stage dance, music, and theatre productions, readings, art exhibit openings, and research symposiums.

ASFA Math Tournament

The annual Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA) Math Tournament is a math competition for students who are currently enrolled in the math levels of 6th Grade, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I. It is held on ASFA's campus in downtown Birmingham, AL. Every year, we host 400-500 participants from ~20 schools. Please continue to visit this page for postings of updated tournament information. One of the most celebrated musical adaptations of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, As You Like It follows Rosalind and a colorful cast of characters into the Forest of Arden, where love, laughter, and self-discovery abound. Featuring Shaina Taub’s joyful, folk-inspired score, this fresh retelling celebrates community, hope, and the transformative power of theatre.

Two semesters of independent study. All seniors have the opportunity to explore the creative process, discovering their own artistic sensibilities. The course results in a substantial, cohesive body of work and a senior exhibition at the end of the year.

ASFA Math-Science Presents:
Senior Research Symposium
April 8, 2027 at 5:00 PM
The Senior Research Symposium celebrates the culmination of ASFA Math-Science students’ independent research projects, developed over two years of study and investigation. Beginning in their junior year, students design original research in mathematics, science, or computer science while gaining hands-on laboratory experience and developing skills in experimental design, data analysis, scientific writing, and oral presentation. Each student completes a research practicum, a formal scientific paper, and a professional presentation. The symposium provides an opportunity for students to share their findings with faculty, peers, families, and the community, showcasing the curiosity, innovation, and academic excellence that define ASFA’s research program.

Senior Choreography

ASFA Dance has 4 Seniors that are completing their final project with bringing to the ASFA Stage new choreography. Each Senior will choose music, decide on costuming, create lighting with Kenneth Keith and of course create new choreography. The program will include other dances to be announced at a later date.
