Resident Assistant
Residence Assistant (RA)
The Residence Assistant (RA) is a live-on staff member responsible for the day-to-day management functions associated with a particular area of the residential living environment. This is a one academic year position and RAs may re-apply for this position at the end of each year. Functions include, but are not limited to, supervising the residents; opening and closing of residence hall; administering residence hall programming and activities; providing discipline and accountability for residents; and facilities management. Must work approximately 20 hours weekly and one weekend a month.
Job Duties
Training:
• In collaboration with the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) and Assistant Residence Life Coordinator (ARLC), build an effective Residence Life staff through training and programming activities;
• Attend all Housing and Residence Life retreats, trainings, and staff development.
Opening and Closing of the Halls:
• Collaborate with the Facilities and Residence Life staff members to efficiently open and close the residence halls as the academic calendar dictates.
Staff Supervision and Programming:
• Meet and greet students on a daily basis; make concerted efforts to get to know residents and assist RAs in providing opportunities for residents to get to know each other;
• Attend and help lead RA meetings and functions associated with RA/student activities and programming when possible;
• Attend staff meetings established by the RLC;
• Participate in the Residence Life On-Call Phone rotation
• Work with RAs, ARLC and the RLC in developing and maintaining the residential community;
• Work weekly office schedules as directed by the ARLC;
• Use ASFA P-Card to purchase hall activity supplies, support RAs and SRAs in planning, advertising, and executing hall/building activities;
• Time Worked per week: approximately 20 hours, split between office work and other duties; Also work a minimum of one weekend a month
Discipline and Accountability
• As needed/directed, mediate roommate conflicts;
• In conjunction with residence hall staff, monitor, evaluate, report and assess student conduct in the residential environment.
Facilities Management
• Conduct room inspections weekly; as necessary report/file work order requests; make RLC and ARLC aware of safety hazards and concerns;
• Conduct drills (fire, lock-down, weather) every semester;
• Assist the Facilities and Safety Coordinator in identifying, reporting, and monitoring maintenance concerns within and about the residential units;
• Assist the RLC in preparing the residence halls for students’ occupancy to include building checks, key preparation and checks, room inspections, and maintenance follow-ups;
• As necessary, monitor and assess residence hall damage;
• Assist the RLC and ARLC in monitoring and managing the desk/office operation/function.
Other
• RAs are responsible for knowing, abiding by and enforcing all rules and regulations set by ASFA; RAs are not granted 24 hours visitation for personal privileges; guests of the opposite gender are not allowed in the staff rooms; overnight visitation of the opposite gender is not permitted unless the school is closed for a break;
• RAs cannot possess other employment, including babysitting, tutoring, and part-time jobs, unless approved in writing by their Residence Life Coordinator;
• Other duties assigned by the Residence Life Coordinator, Assistant Residence Life Coordinator, or the Director of Student Support Services.
Qualifications
1. Must be at least 21 years old.
2. Must be capable of handling multiple tasks and capable of managing and working with a diverse group of individuals;
3. RAs should be an effective communicator possessing the ability to be sensitive to the needs and desires of students, parents, and staff;
4. RAs must possess and exhibit a positive attitude, must be flexible and understand the principles of a team environment.
5. Able to navigate stairs
6. Able to lift 25 lbs
7. Able to operate a computer and other office equipment
8. Able to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
1. Enrolled in graduate school
2. One year or two academic semesters of residence living experience; one year of Resident Assistant experience or at least one year of supervisory experience
Compensation:
• Free housing with a private room (communal bathroom and use of kitchen appliances in lounge areas)

• Free meals from the cafeteria when school is in session
• Free parking at the Boutwell Parking Deck
• Stipend of $8,000 a year (disbursed over 12 months)

Child Nutrition Program Worker
JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CNP PERSONNEL
TITLE: CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM WORKER
REPORTS TO: CHILD NUTRITION SUPERVISOR
JOB OBJECTIVE: Perform those duties necessary to provide all students with nutritious and wholesome meals in an efficient and sanitary manner.
QUALIFICATIONS: Good general health; dependable, responsible, and trustworthy; any combination of education and experience necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities listed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for food preparation, service, storage, and sanitation.
2.Follows work schedules and carries out all assignments in a cooperative manner.
3.Learns and exercises proper care and use of all equipment.
4.Keeps all work areas clean and orderly.
5.Observes proper safety precautions in the kitchen and dining area.
6.Produces satisfactory work on job tasks in a reasonable period of time.
7.Must be regular and punctual in attendance, and stay to the completion of the shift.
8.Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
9.Participates in activities that will promote the school nutrition program.
10.Follows all Child Nutrition Program policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
11.Works co-operatively with and shows respect for others.
12.Follows written and oral instructions and communicates effectively with others.
13.Exercises self-control adequately while demonstrating flexibility and tolerance.
14.Exhibits personal grooming and dress appropriate for food service. Workers are required to wear proper clothes for work, hair restraints, and shall not wear jewelry.

16.Shows an interest in improving abilities by attending all required in-service meetings and
workshops.
17.Perform other job-related duties that may be reasonably required by supervisor
18.Assumes responsibility for seeing that during meal service periods, the supply of food
offered is replenished regularly.
19.Assists in the daily clean-up of the kitchen, dining room, and serving area. Performs major cleaning of equipment and storerooms at regular intervals as designated by the supervisor.
20.Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
21.Performs related duties such as preparing, serving, and cleaning for special school functions.
22.Maintains proper professional relationships with students, teachers, and other employees.
23.Certified Food Handler and/or ServSafe® Certification preferred

Child Nutrition Director
Job Title: Child Nutrition Program Director
Job Goals: To direct, evaluate, and operate the Child Nutrition Program in a sound financial manner, while providing quality nutritious food and nutrition education as part of the educational system.
Reports to: Chief Financial & Operations Officer
Supervises: All Child Nutrition Program Personnel
Required Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Three years of food service experience
Preferred Qualifications:
1. B.S. Degree with a major in the field of nutrition, family and consumer science, food service, or education.
2. A minimum of five years of food service/dietetic experience and two years in a supervisory capacity.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Act as a liaison with the State Department of Education on matters relating to the Child
Nutrition Program. Attend pertinent State Department workshops.
2. Coordinate the interviewing and recommendation of appointment of all Child Nutrition
Personnel with the Business Manager.
3. Develop CNP personnel policies and establish standards for child nutrition program personnel. Monitor and revise as necessary.
4. Direct the evaluation process of the child nutrition program employees.
5. Prepare bid specifications for food, supplies, and equipment for the child nutrition program.
6. Coordinate menu planning to ensure compliance with the federal and state regulations while at the same time promoting good nutrition and appealing meals.
7. Monitor usage of commodity foods. Complete various records relating to USDA
commodities. Monitor record-keeping at the school level.
8. Supervise food storage, food preparation, and food handling to ensure procedures required by the Jefferson County Department of Health are followed.
9. Complete the School Food Service Review Form prior to February 1 of each school year to ensure that all state and federal requirements are being met.
10. Direct food procurement, production, quality, merchandising, and service to promote good participation in the child nutrition program.
11. Plan, implement, and document staff development and regular staff meetings for child nutrition employees.12. Provide leadership and technical assistance to ensure compliance with Child Nutrition
Program rules and regulations.
13. Supervise planned student, faculty, and parent involvement in the child nutrition program.
14. Supervise the development and revision of work schedules for child nutrition employees.
15. Provide nutrition counseling for students and identify nutritional needs as needed.
16. Provide appropriate nutrition education programs for students and nutrition resources for teachers and support personnel.
17. Set pricing of a la carte menu items based on bid pricing.
18. Communicate with CFO/COO, Director of Student Support, and Executive Director to discuss problems, plans, and progress in the Child Nutrition Program.
19. Evaluate the overall Child Nutrition Program and make recommendations for improvement as necessary.
20. Attend professional development programs to enhance professional growth.
21. Monitor Free and Reduced verification at school.
22. Submit all orders for bread, milk, and produce, including statewide purchasing.
23. Assist in record-keeping and accounting procedures at the central office level.
24. Evaluate and make recommendations for changes in the pricing of students and adults' meals.
Salary: Salary Schedule Based on Degree and Experience
Service Term: Twelve Months

Performance Faculty - Theatre Arts Department
Performance Faculty – Theater Arts Department
JOB GOAL:
Experienced instructor with expertise to teach Acting and a secondary specialty in Movement/
Musical Theater/Acting for Camera or other Theatre performance study) to specialty majors in
their preparation to pursue the Theatre Arts.
REPORTS TO: Chair, Theatre Arts Department
Performance Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in multiple areas of performance to students in grades 7–12, including middle school.
- Direct up to two departmental productions per year, at the discretion of the Department Chair.
- Help shape, develop, and refine the performance curriculum within the faculty member’s area of expertise.
- Participate fully in the daily operations of the Theatre Arts Department, including weekly meetings, competition preparation, rehearsals, and after-hours trips.
- Maintain regular office hours and be available on campus to students by 10:00 a.m. daily.
- Serve as a department competition coach for acting students, preparing them for the State Trumbauer and Thespians competitions, which require participation in two weekends per year.
- Serve as the Thespians Troupe Leader, at the discretion of the Department Chair.
- Collaborate closely with faculty across disciplines to support a multi-disciplined, dynamic, and student-centered approach to theatre and performance.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of theatre pedagogy and assessment practices appropriate for young artists.
- Maintain a clear, organized, and detailed online classroom using department-preferred platforms such as Google Classroom and PowerSchool.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, faculty, and staff.
- Assist students with college advisement, auditions, and preparation for admission to conservatories, theatre programs, and performing arts careers.
- Actively assist with student recruitment for the Theatre Arts Department, at the discretion of the Department Chair.
- Establish and maintain clear standards of student behavior that foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Effectively use and communicate through internal technologies, including email, web-based content/document management systems, and grade reporting tools.
- Embrace new and emerging technologies and demonstrate a willingness to become proficient in their use.
- Work collaboratively with other instructors to facilitate flexible scheduling, including test dates and class attendance, in support of student success.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and adherence to a prescribed departmental curriculum.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, demonstrating professional ethics, leadership, and artistic growth.
- Attend after-school rehearsals, auditions, and performances as scheduled multiple times throughout the year, including some weekends.
- Attend and provide adult leadership and support for school performances and student functions, including (but not limited to) specialty productions, concerts, student retreats, school dances, student council events, prom, graduation, audition interviews, and related activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of high school or university-level teaching experience.
- BFA or MFA (preferred) in Theatre, with a specialization in Acting, Acting for the Camera, Movement, or other Theatre-related performance areas.
- Significant professional experience as a performer/director.
- Demonstrated experience as a director.
- Experience in African American Theatre Studies, Latinx Theatre Studies, or Non-Western theatre traditions (preferred).
- Experience working with young artists of varying skill levels and diverse backgrounds (preferred).
